Inspiration comes in many forms. Yesterday, walking home from my aquafit class, I saw something in my neighbourhood I’ve walked by many times and never noticed before. A yarn bombed house.
And just like that my brain was yarn bombed and I had to start a knitting blog. It makes perfect sense to me. And then, next thing you know, the name came to me, and we were off to the races.
I’ve been knitting a long time, getting on for 20 years now. But in the last year or two, its gotten pretty serious. I joined the Ottawa Knitting Guild, took some classes with the wonderful Aknitica and really saw my skills develop, my knitting community grow and the stitches flow. I’ve had a bit of slow down this summer as I’ve had my left carpal tunnel released, but recovery is going well and plans are building for an exciting knitterly Fall.
So, whomever the knitter is that covered that stair post on the house on my walk home, thank you! For a bit more colour in our neighbourhood! For a bit of yarn-spiration in my day! And most of all, for helping me start writing about my knitting!
